Final two pandemic-delayed BTO projects completed: HDB

As at Jan 15, 657 homes or 59% of 1,109 booked units have collected their keys.

The final block, that was put off by six months from its first PCD, was completed in mid-January.

At present, 110 HDB housing projects are under development, up from 95 a year ago due to the increase in BTO supply in recent years. HDB says it is on track to complete around 17,000 condos across 27 projects in 2025.

Located along New Punggol Road, Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) consists of 1,179 units of two-room flexi, three-, four- and five-room condos all over six home blocks. Following pandemic hold-ups, the work’s last block was finished twelve month from its original Probable Completion Date (PCD) earlier this month.

Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has released the finalization of the last 2 pandemic-delayed work from HDB, according to a Jan 20 release.

Both Build-to-Order (BTO) projects, Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) and Kempas Residences, observe the completion of HDB’s pandemic-delayed property ventures. As a whole, the 92 projects have actually provided over 75,800 new condos to Singaporeans over the last 5 years.

HDB is expected to alert the remaining flat proprietors of their key collection date soon, following the completion of the last blocks within both ventures this month.

The 22 housing projects featured two Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) ventures, that were completed in just a waiting duration of much less than three years. The SWT work, Parc Glen at Tengah and Grove Spring at Yishun, made up a total of 1,995 condos.

The remaining ventures had waiting times of approximately 5 years. In general, over 18,000 apartments were completed in 2024, claims HDB.

According to HDB, the finalization of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) marks the conclusion of all flats in the Punggol Point District. This includes Punggol Point Cove (Stage 1), Punggol Point Woods and Punggol Point Crown BTO projects, that were completed in 2024.

As at Jan 15, 37 households or about 7% of 555 lined up units have collected their keys.

In 2024, HDB completed a sum of 22 housing properties, 17 of which were put off by the pandemic. With the exemption of one that was postponed as a result of non-pandemic causes, the remaining 4 house projects were finished on time.

Positioned in between Serangoon Roadway, Lavender Street and Boon Kheng Road, Kempas Residences BTO project has 583 units of two-room flexi, three-, four-room flats across four residential blocks.

Flat homeowners of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) have been receiving the keys to their new residence as November 2024, whilst key collection for Kempas Residence started in mid-January this year.
