Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

The flexible living space is located within a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey structure, designed by the architectural company Swan & Maclaren, was among the earliest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was constructed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

Habyt has already launched a new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship place for the operator’s Habyt Flex design, which represents a strategic growing of the business’s product offerings past extensive co-living.

Wong states Habyt Kada at Maxwell speaks for the company’s dedication to redefining flexible living in Singapore and notes its change towards the next stage of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will begin at $180 per day.

Kada at Maxwell will use a series of spaces, involving en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a fully set up kitchen space. Visitors can book spaces on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month choice even offered.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy infinite and complimentary access to the property’s health and well-being services, including the performance health club, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot bathrooms.

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong indicated that the business was planning to include more short-term living selections to its local lineup. The first properties within the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen Property by Habyt.

The site was awarded to Bethesda Medical, that submitted a monthly rental proposal of $103,000, the third-highest quote cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).

A public tender to rent the property, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was introduced in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA enticed prospective buyers to think about creative way of life concepts.

SLA mentioned Bethesda’s solid concentrate on neighborhood building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the winning edge. The first floor will feature 10 F&B offerings, while the second level will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness facility in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the 3rd floor.

“By blending contemporary conveniences with the ageless beauty of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle experience that exceeds traditional accommodation,” includes Wong.
